Our Story
HarGo Rides was created in loving memory of a cherished family member who relied on triweekly transportation for dialysis treatments in Harford County. After her passing, we were inspired to honor her memory by addressing the challenges faced by other families in similar situations. Our mission is to ease the burden of transportation for seniors, allowing families to spend more quality time with their loved ones. By providing reliable, affordable, and volunteer-driven transportation services, we aim to support and enhance the lives of seniors and their families throughout Harford County.
A Community Effort
HarGo Rides is a true community-driven initiative, made possible by the collaborative efforts of dedicated volunteers and local organizations. At the heart of our endeavor is the Presbyterian Home of Maryland (PHM), a pillar of support for the aging-in-place community with over 100 years of service. Their profound commitment and expertise in senior care have been instrumental in shaping and advancing our mission. PHM’s support has not only provided us with invaluable resources but has also been a driving force behind our ability to offer compassionate and effective transportation solutions.
Additionally, the Harford County Office on Aging has played a crucial role in our success. Their guidance and resources have helped us reach more seniors in need and expand our services. Together with PHM and the Office on Aging, we have built a network of support that underscores our commitment to enhancing the lives of seniors in Harford County.
Looking Ahead
As we continue to grow, our goal is to expand our services beyond transportation to medical appointments. In the near future, we hope to offer rides for other essential outings, such as religious services, errands, and social activities, further enhancing the quality of life for our senior community members. We are committed to evolving with the needs of our community and ensuring that every senior in Harford County has access to the resources they need to thrive.
